Ref:- Procs.Re.No SS-21023/11/2024-GCDO, DL 07.08.2024 of the State Project Director, APSS, Amaravathi.

All the Deputy Educational Officers and Mandal Educational Officers in the District are informed that in the reference cited, the State Project Director, APSS, Amaravati has informed that, the Department of School Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi has informed that the Swachhta Pakhwada, 2024 is to be conducted from 01.09.2024 to 15.09.2024 in schools and For observing the Swachhata Pakhwada in a befitting manner for focused participation resulting in cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene drive and other relate activities in schools with active involvement of students, teachers and community, the schools/ institutions may be instructed to undertake the following suggested participatory activities from 01.09.2024 to 15.09.2024.

Swachhata Shapath may be organized in all schools and educational Institutions, where in all students and teachers/ staff may participate. Holding meeting (in small groups) of SMCs/SMDCS/PTAs or between parents and teachers in the first week of the Pakhwada to highlight the importance of cleanliness & sanitation and importance of Hand- washing. Use of Mask & Social Distancing among children and teachers; and to encourage and inspire them to continue with the good practices for hygiene and sanitation in school as well as home.

Teachers to inspect water and sanitary facilities in every school/ institution do a quick assessment of water, sanitation and hygiene facilities and make proposal/plan for repair and upkeep of the facilities, if required.

Competitions for safe, clean and well-maintained premises and toilets in schools. Painting/Essay/Quiz/Slogan writing/model making competition forstudents on cleanliness and hygiene practices in school. Swachhata awareness messages to be posted on the website of the Organization / Schools/ State, School Education Department Alternatively, photographs on Swachhata may be displayed in schools.

The following activities may also be undertaken by the teachers and administration of the schools.

All kinds of waste material like sanitation waste, used and disposed masks, broken furniture, unusable equipment, defunct vehicles etc. should be completely removed from the premises of schools institutions and disposed of as per procedure. Banning use of single use of plastics within school premises.

Teachers and students in association with local representative should propagate the theme of the Pakhwada among family members, neighbors, citizens in nearby areas.

Awareness about stopping use of Single Use Plastic and mitigation of plastic pollution, while adhering to 3 R (Reduce. Reuse and Recycle) principle.

Daily cleaning and disinfection of frequently used surfaces 

Suggested Action plan for Swachhata Pakhwada from 01.09.2024 to 15.09.2024 is enclosed at Annexure. The schools/educational institutions, so as to ensure participation of students, teachers, parents,local people and representative etc., whole heartedly in the Swachhata Pakhwada from 01.09.2024 to 15.09.2024 and make the Swachhata Pakhwada successful.

Therefore, all the Deputy Educational Officers and Mandal Educational Officers in the District are requested to take necessary action and issuenecessary instructions to School Head Masters in the District to intimate the number of schools and students participated in the Swachhta Pakhwada, activity to the District CMOs in the District. Ensure the participation of students, teachers, parents, local people and representative etc., in the Swachhta Pakhawada from 01.09.2024 to 15.09.2024 and make the Swachhata pakhwada successful.
