GPS Bill

 The Council of Ministers has, vide the Council Resolution Number 198/2023 dated 7th June 2023, resolved to implement the Andhra Pradesh Guaranteed Pension System (APGPS) and inter alia to introduce the Bill in the State Legislature.

There is a long pending demand of the employees of the State Government to review the Contributory Pension Scheme and examine the demands for the old pension scheme.

The APGPS has been formulated after several consultations at various levels with all the stakeholders since the subject matter pertains to the pension to be made applicable to lakhs of employees governed by this Act, the matter needs immediate resolution so as to secure clarity on the subject matter in implementation of the Resolution dated 7th June 2023 and subsequent resolutions of the Council of Ministers.

This Bill seeks to give effect to the above decisions.
